School Improvement Plan

Our School Improvement Processes

This page is dedicated to our school improvement processes and information. Clayton Middle School has been identified as a Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) school. The file library below has all the relevant documentation about this designation and our plans for increasing student growth and achievement. This page will be updated periodically with more school improvement information.

In Nevada, Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) schools are identified under the state's accountability framework, which is part of the federally-approved Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Plan.

Specifically, schools are designated as TSI if they have one or more consistently underperforming student groups in multiple indicators over at least two consecutive years.
Key aspects of TSI schools in Nevada:

  • Student Groups: Performance data for various student groups (e.g., specific racial/ethnic groups, students with disabilities, English learners, and economically disadvantaged students) are analyzed.
  • Indicators: TSI designation requires consistently underperforming student groups in the Academic Achievement Indicator and at least two others, such as Growth, Graduation Rate, English Language Proficiency, and Student Engagement.
